today i talked to tim barker, has anyone on here ever had anything done by him?. i think most of his work is done on the motercycle motors, but they are the same as the raptor. he sounds like he really knows what he is doing. he told me that the megacycle 280 x 4 cam would be the best for me. has anyone tried this cam. i hate to buy it and it not be any better than then the stage 2 hot cam. i was thinkin about getting the 280x 14 but he said that it would have bottom end what so ever, what do u all think

The 280x4 is a bigger cam than the stage2.

stage2
lift dura lobe center
int: .383 246@1mm 106
ex: .404 259@1mm 104

However bigger isn't always better(heck just look at the DS for proof ). I would like to try a bigger, more top end cam, but I do really like the stage2.

Who is Tim B??? Or who does he work for???

Where would you get the shortened valve guides for these big cams? Web cams website says $70 a pop, and that seems a little high to me. What does megacycle use or get them from?

That should be $70 for a pack of five. Any reputable engine builder should be able to get them, I like Craycraft myself.

I would shorten the stock valve guides myself. They are a Bit#@ to install!
