Default Engine storing question!!

I use a product from belray called 6n1. Just spray it into the motor for long periods of storage. I have a couple sets of high dollar steel race heads for my truck that I put into a bag then spray a can of it in and it works great. This is the most awesome spray lube I have ever used. Try some.

Gold Eagle, the company that makes staybil, makes a spray that is just for storing engines. You start your engine then spray this in until it kills the engine. I have used it on jet ski's with great results. My dealer don't carry it anymore though.

Default Engine storing question!!

If it is only going to be a few weeks or months, stored indoors, I wouldn't worry about it.

If it's going to be several months, pull the spark plug and pour one tablespoon of fresh engine oil into the cylinder, and turn the engine over a couple times BY HAND. This is to coat the cylinder with oil to prevent rusting. If you use the electric start, you will spray the oil all over. After you've manually cranked the engine over a couple times, install the spark plug. When you fire her back up in a few months, she's going to belch some serious smoke, and you will have forgotten that you did this and think your engine is blown. ...Other than that, I'd change the oil so you aren't letting old oil varnish up in the block...
