Need help selecting tires please
#1
I was wondeing if i could get some usefull input from you all. I am going too need new tires for my raptor come spring time. The terrain i mostly ride in is loose type ,not really a pure sand, but kinda feels like a sand dirt mix, dont know what too call it,but its not hard packed dirt,i do see some pure sand though. I do ride a local mx track which is hard packed dirt, but mostly im in the loose stuff. Ive ridden my friends raptor thats set up like mine on the mx track and he has ITP holeshots, and man does that thing handle much better. I am considering a set of those, how do they hook up in loose stuff? I know any aftermarket tire will handle better than the stock dunlops, traction is my biggest concern. I know not a single tire does everything well, just want a good all around tire.Any advice would be great, thanks

If you like the itp holeshot then you are on the right track. The itp's are great for hardpack, but spin a lot in the soft stuff. Razrs have a deeper patter and are heavier so they hook up better in soft conditions, but you will lose effectiveness on the mx track. Kind of a little give and take. That said, you cant go wrong with either.

Ive got Holeshots and they suck in mud and sand. I cant hook up in sand or mud, but once on hardpack/little loose, WATCH OUT!!! I can send rocks and stuff flying soooo high and I hook up like a bi@tch!!!
