Anybody else had trouble with Sidewinder Chains ?
#1
I busted one on my Raptor (no motor work). A side plate broke in half. It was their expensive Ti O-ring ATV chain that was supposed to be bionic.....
Just curious if anybody else, especially guys with hopped up banshees/Raptors, have had chain problems. I'm going with DID next -
Since I have a +4 swingarm I run my chain a tad slack so I dont stretch it on compression. I've compressed the rear suspension to the max and checked the slack and it's not over-tight.
- any comments.

I ordered the DID.....
Talked to Sidewinder and they were real nice and professional and said that if I send it back, they'd analyse it and based on what they find they'd maybe give me a big discount on a new one. If it turned out to be rider abuse (lack of lube, rock hit, etc) I'm on my own.
Since I'm pretty rough on my stuff and it's likely they'll blame me anyway I just cleaned it up and tossed it in the gear box for a spare. Heck, the DID costs less than a heavily discounted Sidewinder anyway !!
Oh well.....

Just get another small section of chain and master link.
The one thing I can tell everyone is that if your chain is rubbing your skidplate, it will heat up (i mean red hot) and cause stress cracks in the metal.
