If I hadn't had an 01' I would've done the same thing as you 660R. The only reason I sold my raptor was because it was a dogged out piece! If I had a solid platform I would've done the 686 without a second thought. Congrats man, you'll have to let us know how she dusts..er...uh.....runs against those 450's. Congrats on your 686...

FYI the YFZ can be stroked/bored to over 500 and put out a lot more then 55hp...

I'm glad to hear your doing the rod and balancing the crank. That's really the only way it should be done IMO.

Sixsixt, you and Raptor03(TheSickOne) will have to share some of those secrets you got on the Raptor and the 686.

Tomorrow we are tearing into the Raptor, and getting everything ready to ship out. Hopefully all goes smooth and easy.

As for boreing and stroking the YFZ...tell Curtis Sparks that. Right now, the only thing he offers is a 470 that has rwhp around 50-55. But that is good on the YFZ considering it is only 370lbs wet weight.

Give them a call. Plenty of people on another forum have called and talked with CS, and they were told a 470 has around 55hp. The kit costs around 1500 or so. They have all discussed the possibilities and what not that Sparks has.

Of course sparks has 470's there's a couple of them that run around at pismo but just like when he said he didn't have any 727's he likes to keep everything hush hush. just dont think that 55hp is all you can get out of the yfz....

The YFZ's dont have the torque and the broad powerband the Raptor has. So some people prefer YFZ, some people perfer Raptor. I rather have a bored Raptor then a bored YFZ any day.
