Do your think they would make such a big deal out of it if not?....... Your jetting is probably way off, and thats why your running so bad. Every manufacturer has a different numbering system. Stick with one manufacturer and use only thier jets. If not you have no way of referencing differences between settings.

And heavy tires will definately hurt your performance. The less rotating mass you have to turn over the better.

You can get the Mikuni jets from your dealer(they should have some around for doing carb set-ups) and they're real cheap(exactly why I NEVER waste the money on "jet kits" from people like K&N, Dyno-jet etc) As for the .160 wheels hurting performance...... they should be lighter than the .190's, so no, I don't see any reason why that would hinder your performance. Now those heavy pig mud tires on the other hand will probably hurt your performance. Any good set of holeshots, razrs, etc. should get the job done just fine unless your on sand. And if thats the case then you need a good set of paddles if you want to be competative.

Big thing here is if you are running dynojet jets you NEED to run dynojet needles. If you run gytr jets you NEED to run GTYR needles. If you run stock jets(Mikuni) run stock needles. With your setup it sounds right with dynojet 148/150s but it could also be a tad lean.

If you go mikuni my buddy right now is at 165/170 and you have a few more mods then him so that would be a good starting point.

Lastly tires will make a difference but not a huge difference Id put money on it that something is wrong with your jetting.

Your close. The GYT-R jet kit uses "stock" jets, they are Mikuni jets. You can use the stock needle with the GYT-R jets. The only thing you don't want to mix are Dyno Jet (which includes K&N because they are the samething) and anything else. All the GYT-R stuff is the same as all the Yamaha factory stuff.

The numbering system for the main jets. Dynojet uses numbers like 140,142,144,146,148,150. I dont know if there is any markings that would be different. Mikuni uses like 140,145,150,155,160,165 also has 152.5,157.5,162.5,167.5. I dont know of how you could tell the difference in like 140, 150.

And I was always told GTYR was different then stock. Oh well I might have been wrong about that but whatever my point was make sure you are running the right needle for your jets. If you havent changed needles your best bet would either be change those to fit the dynojet jets you are running right now or... go get some mikuni jets and stick with those, they are like $2.50 a piece. Just buy a variety around what you might think you need.
