Find a junked P650 or one with high KM's, slap on 29" Outlaws, lift kit, spacers, big bore 800 and spin those tires in any mud like greased lightning!

I find that the prarrie engine is not what i am looking for. Those things are just so heavy and they sit low... anybody can stick big tries and some bolt on items on a quad. I want to be unique. But thanks for the suggestion.

I would now ultimatly like to have a list of what quads came with 4-low throughout yamahas hisotry. Maybe shoving a kodiac engine (400) would be a good bet. Since i am going to buy 2 quads, i would like to make both work and sell the one with not needed parts. Anybody know what Yamahas have or had 4-low in their tranny's?

Grizz 600 engine

This is giving me an idea on how much people want for an engine

Blaster96,

The only auto.clutch transmission/engines with the Low range that also had a transfer case for 4x4 is the '87-'96 BigBear and '93-'98 Kodiak that I am aware of.

There is a company now making replacement CV axles called "Gorilla Axles". They are larger in diameter for strength, but do not list longer versions. I don't know if they would do a custom axle for someone. May want to try look them up and check.

I have not seen any extended drive shafts either, but like you mentioned about your Jeep. It could be made.

Thank you for the quad years. Now my search will begin.

I am also going to check into those Gorilla Axles. Thanks for the "hot tip"

Most of my Questions have been answered. Please feel free to keep suggestions comming, i am open minded. Maybe something will come up. I hope this machine will be done by mid 2004.... Thanks

Blaster96,

No problem.

Ya know, I was thinking about the mount locations for the front differential and then went out and looked at one on a Kodiak. If it's similar to the Kodiak in relation to the lower frame rails, you should be able to lower the differential a good 1 1/2" and make new mounts for it so that you can lift the front up without binding the CV axles.

Just something you may want to look at if you haven't already.

I did think about this. It is like lifting a truck with IFS. once u hit like 4" or so you have to drop the front Diff. If I run into problems with the CV shafts i might have to do this an build my own skid plate. More fabbing!!!

Where should I look of these quads? Also, anybody want to buy a near new 99KX80 dirtbike?

I am not willing to pay $2,000 for a 94 kodiac. Add $500 for a new shock and it all ads up real fast. Last summer I almost purchased a 2000 wolvy for $2000. Thanks for the offer though. Also i am not going to Trade any wolverine. I need to transplate a new engine into the wolverine chassis.
