My cylinder head is shattered underneath the cam. Looks like the decompressioner broke and beat the surface until the head shattered. I might just part out the Raptor now. I'm tired of fixing it. Oh well.

I'm sorry but I'm so glad I don't have my raptor any more, there like trying to drive a nail with a glass hammer!

I know how you feel. Just see what a head will cost you from ebay and go from there. I was in the same boat dude. Is the bottom end salvageable?

Thanks guys. Yes it really sucks. Everything else if fine. Just the head is gone. I will probably sell it. I will make a decision by this weekend. Probably the only way I would keep it, is if I put another motor in there like a streetbike engine. I don't know why the decompression pin did that, but oh well.

I understand early hotcams had a problem with the decompression pin, maybe contact them for help in replacing the head? If not buy one off ebay, I see em go alot cheaper than new. Btw guys other than eating up clutches (oneway included) I havent had a lick of trouble out of my 01 686 that wasnt directly caused by my stupidity.
