Drag question...
#1
I have been playing with shocks vs/ struts. I love the struts and it seems to give the bike a few tenths but if the track gets a little "whoopy" then the bike will damn near buck you off. My question is does anyone know of a good SHORT stroke shock that will not allow alot of give but still provide a little smother ride? What I mean by "give" by the way is on take off the shocks will compress and allows the front to rise up close to a foot even with the wheelie bar (which sucks if the bike pulls left or right). Don't know if I explained that well or not but if any one has an idea I would greatly appreciate it!!!
Thanks,
Mike

I think Marvin Shaws are exactly what you are lookin for. PM Zombie, he has them on his bike and can point you in the right direction. I think they are around $400-$550. I want to get some down the road. Also, to theraptorman, can you still wheelie with your plus 6? I am having a hard time deciding between a +4 or +6.

I found Marin Shaws web site and I am going to e-mail them to find out if they can help with my problem.
Wallstreet... I have changed back to the stock arm. The +6 worked great but was giving up ALOT of spinning on take off. I was running a wheelie bar with the +6 and it would still come back and hit hard on launch. If you are carefull and use your weight right you can launch a +6 hard without comming up to high. When I was running the +4 I could not launch HARD without comming up. I am guessing you are talking about on drags, but If you are talking about RIDING wheelies they are almost inpossible with the +6 its just to hard to ballance, It can be done with a +4 but its tricky.
Thanks for the help guys, and hope that helps you out Wallstreet!

marvins are a drag shock, but there isnt much to them. Mainly they will lower your bike and provide suspension when you hit a rut hard or when you slam your bike down from a wheelie. Other then that they arent much of a shock. you can order them to the length you want

if your just taking it to the strip you should be ok. I wouldnt go taking rollers with them by any means. Marvins probably wont help those old kidneys much...heh. The rear is 185 retail and the fronts are 350 if i remember correctly. You should decide if you want to drop 500 bones over 100 dollar struts...heh. Personally i run struts on the track
