Thank you 2004LEBanshee for setting the record straight. It drives me nut when people talk about 2-strokes being unreliable.

BigScary you are making the right choice there are so many things you can do to a banshee that your banshee when you are done with it will be like no other. All the raptor and YFZ out there are all pretty much the same. Good luck if you are looking for a good shop to deal with check out my site one of my sponsers is a great guy to deal with. I am thinking of having him custom make a set of Long travel A-Arms.

Good Luck

Scary, now you too will begin to brag once you get a hold of one and put a few hundred dollars into it instead of a few thousand and you will dream for days after each ride you take about that feeling. Man I've had mines for months now and still after a good day's ride dream all night of the trill, feel, sound and, yes........the smell of that castor oil. CPI's and porting and you'll be holding on for dear life and saying to yourself, I better start doing some hand griping excersises or this Shee is going to make me slip off one day.

Enjoy, especially if you've always wanted one.............life's too short

i doubt a shee went 150 unless it had 100shot of nos or something maybe 75 shot. but who would be dumb enough to go 150 on a 4 wheeler that has a high flip over rate. not just the shee but all quads are high tip over rate. anything really with a short wheel base has a high flip over rate. but 150 is just dumb but i guess possible just very unlikely

Todays 2 strokes are as reliable as a 4 strokes when you run good premix. My bro has a 00 Shee and he just recently rebuilt it....and it actually did not need it. The Banshee's tranny is bulletproof and tested. Pipes + needles ($600), timing ($40), and shaving the head ($75) is what I would do first (asuming a proflo is installed). Next, porting ($600) from K and K and maybe a stroker kit ($600)...IMO. Throw in misc stuff and you have 2k....and it will go by your old Raptor so hard it could pull the stickers off....

Alright, this is what beech would do. you have 2k for a motor...get yourself a billet head (200) get yourself an extra set of domes for it, put yourself a 4mil crank in it (450), next you do your porting (4-500). Now your at roughly 1100. Pistons will set you back 140, gaskets and seals anouther 60 if you want to do it right, pipes i could get for 400 (cpi's), now your at 1700. Next i would do a set of 35 keihins for 300 NIB or buy some 40 dollar a peice trx carbs that would work fine. Now whichever way you go with that if you have money left over do yourself some K&N filters for 100 bucks with outterwares. That will take you fast with the right parts
