Default Engine Ice.....

I'm picking up the last of the things I need to put into this money pit of a Raptor.

I'm getting some engine ice to put back into the Raptor instead of regular anti-freeze. Is this good or bad? Says it cools the bike by 50 degree's compared to standard anti-freeze. I figured this would have to be good for the motor, and help in preventing any type of overheating.

What do you guys think?

I noticed my raptor running cooler with it (fan not coming on). Don't know how much, but to me any cooler is better.

I've heard from some people on other forums and some on this forum that it will probably drop your engine temp 10 degrees if you are lucky, unless run a pure 50/50 mix, and then it might drop it by 25 degrees or so. You want the motor to run at a warmed up temperature, as this will make the engine last longer, so you might be better off sticking with the normal anti-freeze mix, unless you are a Banshee which has problems with overheating.

You could also try Redline's water wetter, I've used that with good results, one of the magazines did a test on all of the cooling agents a while back, and the water wetter cooled the best if I remember right.

I think I'm going to try the Engine Ice. I know it probaly won't bring the temp down 50 degree's, but I did figure it would keep it alittle cooler, and maybe keep the fan from kicking on a lot. That was basically what I figured it would do, keep the fan from kicking on and off in the trails.

I'll give it a shot and see what it does....actually I'll talk to bob, and then see what he says, and then decide. But I figure I'll go ahead and get it.

Why does anyone take something that is working and change it? To make it even better. JMO

I was also thinking about engine ice, and redline. Some people say that it has too much lubrication in it, and can work its way through your headgasket. Do a serch in all the forums. I think i saw somewhere that multiple people had leaking problems. Could have been a coincidence, but I would look into it if I were you.
