Default Painting your exhaust pipe?!

I think im going to sand and paint my exhaust. Mainly because its getting pretty rusty and I dont really need to buy a performance pipe...has anyone done this? if so did the paint hold up long?

get PJ1 ceramic coat or jet hot coating's. the other stuff won't hold up, four stroke header's are the hardest to keep painted or rust free.

I have not done this on a quad, but i painted the exhaust system and engine on my mustang, after a summer of driving the paint still looks like new.. I got this paint its good for up to 1200 degrees, you can find this at auto zone for around 5 bucks a can..

Hope this helps,
TrailRider

Well as long as it can last through mud, dirt and everything else it will be good! Black would probably look the best on a blue raptor eh?

you just do right once, might cost more in the long run,but also looks better.PJ1 spray cans only cost alittle more than the regular spray can's.

I am sure mud, etc will not hurt it at all this stuff dries very hard and from what i can see a very good quality paint, in fact i over heated the stang when the water pump went out it was close to melt down and it did not hurt the paint one bit.. I think a nice gloss black would look nice on the blue rappy...

Do they have that stuff at most stores?

Is it much of a hassle to take the pipe off and the headers???

Are you saying i did it the "wrong way" on my classic 1966 mustang? Believe me if it was crap i would have not used it on something worth as much as my stang.. I know jet hot is way better, but its a stock system in the long run he probably will get rid of it.. so why put a lot into it?

trailrider500 i used the same things on my truck calipers, to make them chrome on my black tacoma, it looks SWEET, after 3 years i had to repaint them again, but hey what can you ask for...... just make SURE you let it dry good for a week or 2 before you ride it..... other wise it won't cure right...... they also make some paint for wood stoves that is the same color as that stock paint stuff.....
