I have the chance to get a 2001 yamaha raptor and there is nothing wrong with it. just normal riding scratches and scuffs. The guy that i would get it from is going to get a factory graphics kit put on for me and a tune up before he would sell it to me. He has some mods done to it like a white bros exhaust, k&n filter, renthal handlebars, the carb is jetted, rear realtor tires and front itp holeshots a new front grab bar and shock covers and a hevy duty chain and a helmet...etc He is going to sell it to me for $3500. What are the problems with the 2001 raptors and is it a good machine? and also how would i make the white bros become quieter is there a silencer for it? i want to know because our trails are around a bunch of old crabby people and we always get yelled at and the cops called.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/img]

 

umm, white bros e2 is 96 or 98 db's, it was designed for trails, but yes, they do i believe make differnt silecers, the regular e-series is a disk system tho, the less disk the quieter it gets i think, the r-series is i believe interchangable silencer packs, but i would got e2

yes, but, the e2 is a trail pipe, the e1 or w/e isnt, it is a disk system. the e2 comes out the back and is quiet.

i personnally wouldnt pay that much for a first year raptor. the early raptors were said to have had some tranny probs. they fixed that late 01 tho. there is a 03 le raptor with 686 kit and lots of extras for 4600 in the paper shop. but if you know the guy and know he took care of it, and if you have the money, then sure, good price.

 

i know the guy and he said if anything goes wrong with it he will try his best to get it fixed cuz he knows a guy that works at a quad dealer

nvm, i got ur mods. i didnt even read the whole top part, got them now tho

 

its in almost mint condition and the only thing is that it has some pressure cracks but nothing major but other than that theres nothing wrong with it i personally think its a good deal
