I got my Recall letter Saturday and called the dealer-ship right away. He said they have not heard anything on the recall. He is supposed to get back with me today and let me know when they are getting the part to fix it so I can get mine in. He also told me that Yamaha is looking into a 01 Tranny recall, because there have been papers filed from where this has caused injury. He said they have replaced over 50 01 trannies just at his shop and he thinks this could be a big recall within the next year.

Remember a recall can only be done if the defect can cause injury or death. Look at the auto industry and the industries that make baby toys and other things, the biggest field for recalls.

 

Does it matter if you are the orriginal owner?

 

They have a # for you to call in the letter, if you do not own the machine anymore.

My rear breaks have sucked from day one and i've bled them many times so I think i'll have them work on it. I can live without the rappy for a couple days.

 

Got my recall yesterday. Guess I'll hit up the dealer for the fix. I use the rear all the time when I need to slow down after whoopin some butt sand dragin. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

I got mine Sat. I am gonna try to talk my dealer into just giving me the parts. I don't trust them to work on my bikes.
