I lost the screw next to the bowl up under the carb on my 80 XR 175. How i find another. I tried a local shop and they said I had to get a whole carb, so what can I do?

Go to a local shop that has old bikes and stuff that you can buy all sorts of parts from. And, then you just find the screw you need and it shouldn't be that expensive.

Try Carburetor Parts Warehouse (ads in all ATV magazines); or, "dismantlers" as suggested above by 350BigBear (there's a big yard ("Faye's Cycles?") on Hwy 59 some miles north of Houston, right?).
