at 6'1" you may need to get pegs that drop down an 1" and a +1 steering stem and add CR double high bars. thats what some of the taller riders are doing. I'm 5-11 and although i would'nt say i'm cramped...i would say it makes for a very aggressive riding stance.

that said...you'll be smiling in your sleep.

thanks for the review and the ideas. I think I'm just going to have to keep going to the shops and sitting on both until I can decide. Any idea how much it would cost to get a different set of pegs and a steering stem?

you wont need it. Trust me. You should feel fine at 6'1''. I feel fine on mine and im probably a bit taller than you are. The pegs dont bother me one bit.

in some magazine i forget which one, they said that the yfz is just slightly faster than the trx, barly noticable. i guess it would depend on rider weight/skill, and it said the yfz has a hard seat but u were there and sat on it so u shoudl know which one is more comfortable. i think it said somthing about the trx having better brakes. just some stuff u might want to find out more about

your size surprises me that you would be comfortable on the 450. Im 5'9" about 200 pounds and the 450 feels like a large kid bike.

Just add an extra inch to the steering stem your self.
