Default Kodiak 450 owners....

Some of you may know this already but I found today that the Fram PH6017A oil filter fits the 03 and 04 Kodiak 450's. I called the dealer and they wanted 14.99 for a filter and I thought that to be insane for alittle filter when the one for my trucks cost less then 4 bucks. So I did some research and found this one, cost 5.96 at Wallyworld. Schucks carries it to but they were out and the price was the same. For that price I bought 2 of them. I was very pleased with myself for trying to save some money and accomplished it. Thought I would give a heads up on this. AlaskaBoy.

thanks, I've seen that posted here.I gave the part# to my local guy. They didn't have Fram, but they got me an equivalent size and thread in Hastings, model 113. Give them the Fram number and they can match it to other brands. Our Wal-mart doesn't carry the Fram ( must be US only). The important part is the thread letter that you can see inside the top, shiny metal part by the threads. Ours is thread 'M' (I think).

the price diff is huge.

I thought I had seen it on here but when I did a search on it I could not find it. I thought I was losing my mind, thanks Confused for helping realize that I had not. Price factor is huge, I can do a complete oil change for the cost of one filter from the dealer.AlaskaBoy.

I hear ya. hey, i was just part way up to your part of the country. I flew home from Fort St. John last night. Everyone has a crewcab dually, with 1-2 atvs, or 2 sleds. good to see there are still areas where men are men, and sheep are scared!!

Sheep should not be afraid of me, I am probaly the only sheep hunter in Alaska that is afraid of heights and besides I just want to pet them, especially the full curl ones honestly.

Fort St. John, is that up above Yukon Territory( then name of the area slips me, maybe Nununivak or something like that?)AlaskaBoy.
