I'd like to hear some of the arguments for either brand. I personally own a 99 Banshee, and I love it to death. I never really liked the feel of a 250r, but i enjoy riding a 400ex - except for the lack of any power thing.

So... What do all y'all think?

Understand you love your Banshee. WHY do you want to hear arguments suggesting Hondas may be superior? Do you think arguments read on the Forum may change your preconceptions (e.g., no "power thing" with a 400)?

I'm not putting you down; only, you say you're satisfied with your Banshee; I wonder why you seek contrary or even confirmatory arguments.

A guy did the same thing on the Polaris forum! Wow! I hope it's not another pre-schooler!

Just a suggestion, 747, consider your own advice.

Asking why the originator invites arguments against his quad hardly seems a police function. Does the question offend you? Do you presume to tell me which questions I may or may not ask?

Perhaps you view yourself as the true Forum police.

I can see Tree Farmer's point as well as 747's. Maybe we're overly sensitive when two brands are mentioned in the same post because it can soon deteriorate into personal insults and irrational defense of some feature solely because it's used/not used by a particular manufacturer. The drum vs. disc brake silliness comes to mind. I don't envy atvbbs.
Can't help on your original question Bandit. What we ride are tanks compared to Banshees and such.

I started this thread because I merely wanted to try and see thing from other's point of view. Perhaps someone likes a certian machine for a certian terrain, and another for another. Maybe people like certian features over others that one brand might not provide. I probably did start out poorly with the no power comment, but this statement has been debated since the 400ex came out by every avt magazine.
However, purpose was simply to start a discussion of comparison. If this discussion somehow offends you, or makes you want to sit in a corner and pout because someone thinks a little less of the machine you own, I really don't want to hear it.

In response to Radgumby:

I also agree that the banshee frames CAN be weak. I've seen a buddy on an almost new (98) banshee bend his frame hitting a medium size jump and landing normally. But I have also seen the opposite. I've been pounding the heck out of my machine since day one, had some pretty hard landings, and a few misfortunate encounters with trees (the trees won). Yet my frame is still straingt as an arrow.

I'll take the Rancher for the Ranch and the Wolverine for chasing Wolves.
You shouldn't buy an atv for what purpose you intend to use it. You should buy the one that you think has the coolest name. Thats why I'm not buying an atv untill someone names one "Nuttbuster" Because I Think an atv called Nuttbuster would be pretty cool.
