Default Problem starting banshee

I have a 1998 Banshee. The carbs were just rebuilt in the fall by an atv shop. It has only be ridden a couple of times since then. I always have trouble starting it for the first time each day. But if I put a little gas in the intake before I kick it the first time it starts on the first kick. I have tried pumping the gas serveral times and the choke on and off and nothing seems to work. I checked my fuel lines and replaced the fuel valve and the choke plunger. I am out of ideas. It doesn't seem like it is not getting any fuel at start up, but once it starts it is fine. Can anyone give me any new ideas.

The gas is probably evaporating, in the float bowl, and after awhile its down enough to uncover the pilot jet. Does it have a pri position on the fuel valve? you could try turning to pri before starting to fill the float bowl, or shake the quad a bit, to jiggle the float, and fill the float bowl.

Do you think the gas would evaporate overnight or in 4 or 5 hrs? I will try shaking it though. Anything is worth a try.

Thanks for the reply

Probably not, unless the vents are really big, in the carbs.

I had the same problem and just got it fixed today actually.I was using starting fluid to start it though. First I had a bent needle and had to replace that, then I took a peice of wire and stuck it in all the holes in the carbs to make sure notthing was clogged. After I did all that I noticed the black hose that connects the carbs together for the choke was off , I dont know if it was off before or I knocked it off while I was doing the other stuff, I dont know what fixed it but one of the things did. Also mine wouldn't idle right.
Does yours idle good?

Hope this helps someone out, "only caused me about a weeks worth of headaches" lol
