File valve down for stage 2 hotcam?

Default File valve down for stage 2 hotcam?

My local dealer said they had to file a valve down for my stage 2 hotcam is that right?

They probably meant grind down the valve guide. If they had too yours would be the first I have heard of that had to be done for a stage 2. If they are trying to charge you more for doing it, I would double check it just in case.

all he told me is that it would drive the valve into somthing and break it and it would get in the motor

I have never heard of anyone having too do this too use the Stage 2 Hotcam...anyone else have any info?

99% of the time the clearance is ok? Is there a potential binding issue with the spring and the guide??

so do you think that they are filing the valve giude or are they cuttin the valve i might have misunderstood him is what you said he going to do?

Which valve guide is it that needs to be filed? I am about to put my bike back together w/ a stage II

new timing chain every 100 hours?!?! anyone elese think this needs to be done? I have prolly 25 hours on my new piston and cam, thats NOT that mich time really, that like replacing the chain 2-3 times every year.......

Raptorforever, it is the middle intake guide. You should check the clearance before you start grinding away.

I think the cam chain thing is a good idea. I don't know if 100 hours is overkill or not.....better safe than sorry. As cheap as the chain is and as easy as it is to replace I think why not.
