Default Good or Bad

I was thinking about buying a Kodiak. There are three different models, 400, 400 4x4, 450 4x4. The people that have these atvs do you have any problems out of them? Tranny? I heard problems with low end torque. Problems with the 4x4. What about belt wear? I now have a Prarie 360 and it goes through belts like nothing and the primary and secondary clutchs messed up. Its gonna cost a $1000 to fix it. But anyways back to the kodiak. Are they good for long rides at high speeds like dirtroad riding about 45 mph without overheating. What are some of its good points and bad points? Sorry for all the questions but I dont want to buy another one with a weak tranny.

i have an 01 kodiak 400 4X4 and i love it. the only thing that is wrong with it is its high center of gravity, it tends to tip a little easier than some other mochines would, but that is olso because it is lighter too, which i think is a good thing. i have never had a problem with it overheating and the belts have never worn out, and i have had to drain the belt drive numerous times because of driving it trough deep water and i have never had any problems

I own a 03 Kodiak 450 and love it!! It has given me no problems so far, I have about 500 miles on it. I use it alot for hunting where it is extremly muddy at times and steep valleys. I just got back from Lake Barkley (Land Between the Lakes) ATV course where I rode it extremly hard and fast for two days, the Kodiak ran like a charm and had no problem keeping up with the big boys. You can't go wrong with the 450.

I would go with something that doesnt have an automatic tranny if you are worried about the belt. maybe a big bear it has the same cc's but is semi automatic.
Just my two cense
