The ds has always been faster. The raptor has not changed since 01 save for a tranny upgrade and a few minor things. The ds did not change until the 04 x models. These are smaller and lighter which means faster. Now since the raptor hasnt gotten any faster, and the ds has always been faster and now is even lighter and therefore faster than ever, Why do you need new opinions? Time will not change the production lines.

 

As much as I love my Raptor, the DS is still faster on pavement.

Well, I'll vouch that the raptor is faster stock vs. stock, in a 300ft drag. But the ds will beat it at topspeed. I dont know about the new 04 ds, but I would imagine, unfortunatlely, that it is going to be faster then a raptor both topspeed and 300 ft drag.

Man whats this guys problem...do you really have nothing better to do than try to stop people from doing exactly what this forum was created for??? Is it really hurting you that a few people have asked the same question? If it does'nt involve you don't respond at all, nobody wants to hear you cry about this, everyone just wants a little help or to exchange some ideas so just let it be.

 

I'm just frustrated about having to look through 25 "VS" threads every time I open the yamaha forum. Thats why I have been spending my time elsewhere. If everyone did just 1 search before they posted, I think things would be much easier to follow in the yammi world. I stated why the comparison was similar to the prior ones that have been going on since 01. I am suprised that you have not noticed the huge flux of vs posts in the last few months since the release of the 450's. Now I understood those comparisons, but only the first 10 times they were made. It has become repetitive to me and I felt it was better for everyone if someone got their background information first by searching than by just posting a topic we have seen numerous times.

 

I have not had a DS beat me yet. Yes I'm not stock but the quads I race are not stock either. I'm sure there are some fast ones I just have not seen them yet. I play in the sand at Gordens. Stock to stock seems to be hard to find.
