reverse is very easy. go with the rap, u wont get let down, just as fast as the yfz, much better on trails, much more comfortable, reverse, only thing is its not as wide. go with the rap. much better choice.

I love my raptor, its my second one. I had an 02 as well. There isnt enough of an advantage with the yfz that you wouldnt be able to keep up with one in the trails. You will really only notice the handling loss when on an mx track or tt course. The narrower raptor with a reverse gear makes it very friendly in the trails. The suspension on the yfz is much better though.

revers is to high gerd and when you try to slip the clutch the rev limiter kills it.i also have to let off the clutch a bit to get it in reverse

The reverse gear is too high, but that can be solved by bypassing the reverse rev limiter. Its easy and free. Makes all of the difference, and is very usable afterwards.

two very diff quads
rap that much better in trails? dont know about that
gearing is very high first thing i did was go smaller front sprocket
also dont let rap reverse be deciding factor it sucks unless your backing down a hill
its like trying to start off in 3rd gear

The raptor wont get stuck in mud or snow any easier than any other sport quad. My cousin took his raptor through plenty of mudholes. Get a good set of tires for winter/mud and you will be fine.

It really depends on the kind of riding you plan on doing. If you are going to be riding very technical trails or mx tracks then you should go with the yfz. The raptor is larger, and therefore much more comfortable to me. I felt cramped on the yfz, and I certainly wouldnt want to ride all day if I wasnt comfortable. If you are comfortable on the yfz, and dont think you will need reverse, I would go with the yfz.

Yep, quite a few times. Lots of fun and plenty of people to ride with and race.
