Did you check the breather hose?

Are ya getting another motor or just parting out the whole thing all together. I've seen the motor on ebay, didn't know it was yours. I coulda used the crank.

Sounds like rings to me. Have him do a leak down to see for sure. I did a motor about a year and a half ago with the same symptoms and both the first and second rings were all broken up. I bet when he does the leak down he hears a hurricane in the breather. Sorry for the bad news.

Your rings on your piston could be upside down - with the wiper facing up. this would pull oil into the combustion chamber. Has your motor been rebuilt?

If your running a FE piston look for a split in the ccenter section . I have seen them with a hairline slit very hard to see but it transfered oil and caused alot of blowbye . Then again time will tell
Good luck
