ATV Connection Review of the Raptor

Take your newest model year ATC250R VS TRX250R - both stock.
Very short races, who usually wins?
Longer races, who usually wins?
The ATC is easier to get the front end up and easier to get bad starts, yet when it does hook up and the front is planted, is very fast. Does this relate to the scenerio here?

weibz, its notwhat I have, but will have. This winter im building a custom framed lonestar/TCS suspended 330r that will have aprrox. 60 yes count em, 60 hp. Thats much more than your raptor seeing how this is only half the size. (ill stop comparing it to a little ol' two stroke since we all know their much better I said it once, ill say it again. 45 hp is pitiful for a 660cc engine. Look at the yz 426, its a four stroke and has more horsepower than something 230 cc bigger. I agree 45 is an impressive number but you would expect that from a 400 cc four stroke, not a 660. If this engine were for real, it would have over 60 hp, but it doesnt.
Oh yeah, where do you get 12.5 hp for a blaster any way? its always been 17.5 since they came out in 88. Did you just happen to dyno one in your garage last night or just pull that figure out of your @ss? Just checkin.

KillerBlaster As you may learn quickly HP figures are not the judge of how good a bike is. I have a 63 yes count them 63 HP 97 Polaris Sport 400. Ported, Polished, Cool head, Delta Vforce 2, K&N, 42mm Carb, DG ATV Xtreme Pipe and type II oval silencer, HPD Aggressive Clutch Kit,VP fueled. And let me tell you it aint worth a **** to have that much HP unless it is useable in every day riding, I cant afford fuel for every day riding and it sure cant be ridden any where but dragstrip, racetrack, or dunes. Further modifications can get me an additional 10+hp, but why go there. It is just for Drags in my opinion, so thats why I choose the Raptor as a Supplement to my others. The Raptor has been designed for optimum speed, rideability, and durability, if it wasnt they would have leaned more toward high compression and open exhaust and really unleashed the powerplants HP Potential like the YZ426. And as far as the retarded comparisons of displacement from 4 and 2 stroke bikes, that is ridiculous they are 2 very different types of engines and 2 strokes typically bring 2-3 times the HP per cc displacement. If your so big on honda then compare a 250X to a 250R, or your 330R to a 300Ex. There is no comparison. That is why taking even 660ccs of fourstroke and getting 45-55HP is Impressive to say the least. And yes you are right to think that the 4 stroke raptor will jump a Banshee off of the line, But if it will Pull to 9000rpm limiter it will most likeley pull the stock banshee which cannot reach much more rpm stock. And considering the HP advantage it has over a stock banshee, it will have the power to pull away somewhere in its mid to upper powercurve. My next statement probably will Pi$$ you off real good, But Anyone who is considering running their mouth and Rides a Blaster should not even consider saying anything until they atleast own a Banshee, because you are still on an entry level 200cc sport bike, the banshee is the Top level currently, and the Raptor is designed as a Step-Up bike from the banshee.

I know almost every ATV is in a mild state of tune, but the raptor still makes more hp than most fully modified quads! And how can u say the banshee would do better the longer the race goes? The raptor has friggin 10 more horses!
And I have personally talked to people on the internet who have gotten a chance to ride it, Smokin on the ATv chat got a chance to ride it and he doesn't work for yamaha or anything and he says it absolutely rips and handles just as good as a 400ex. I'v also talked to WBGO and Don and they say its no BS, the raptor really is the best thing to hit the ATV world. And 45 hp is anything but pitiful.
Get your facts straight, everyone who has gotten to ride it says it has an awesome engine and great handiling and suspension, do you think there all lying? So don't come in here saying the raptor is pathetic when u haven't even ridden, meanwhile everyone who has ridden says its awesome.

Did I miss something in the article? I didn't see where the Banshee was mentioned at all or drag races. Did I read the same article or are you all talking about some other review of the Raptor? I thought it was a fairly straight forward and positive review of the Raptor. If I am reading the wrong article, please let me know.

As far as the maximum "stock" HP of the DS650 and Raptor660 motors are concerned, lets face it, they are going to put out basically around the same maximum "stock" HP plus or minus a few HP, GIVEN both motors come with or are modified with the proper carburetion and exhaust that each one needs. Where the difference will be is in the handling and also how close to ideal that the carburetion & exhaust comes setup out of the box. Traction, weight, gearing, rev limit will affect acceleration/top speed.
