jetting on YFZ450 Help plz?

Default jetting on YFZ450 Help plz?
I got HMF on my yfz and i was wondering if i should buy i jet kit or buy the jets and needle seperate or if any of u have a pipe n tell me how u worked it out with jetting i would appriciate it.

I would just buy the jets you need...jet kits usually come with jets that you'll find useless...Check with HMF and see what they recommend and go from there...

Do most jet kits like GYT-R come with the right size jets. HMF site says modification for HMF is 180 u think that the jet kit would come with that size?

Just checked with a dealer and off the yamaha website, the website says it comes with 155, 160, 162, and 165 mains, 40 and 45 pilots...the dealer told me it came those and 168,170 mains...

it also depends what kind of jets HMF told you to run, GYTR jets are different from Dynojets even though they have the same number...

if you use the stock needle then you need a large main jet such as a 180. However if you purchase a GYT-R needle (thinner) then a smaller main jet such as a 165, 168 or 170 would be used with the new needle.

It depends on your filter, 165 mains, 45 pilot, GYTR needle. There is a guy on ebay selling jet kits for the YFZ450 and they work good for the price. Its not GYTR Kit or Dyno Jet, he makes his own kit.
