I'm thinking of getting a new Grizzly. I need to know, what's good, What's bad, and what to look out for. Any un-biased opinions will be appreciated, Thank you!

some people think they are "tipsy", but I would attribute that more to rider error. I've never had my tip on me.

some people have problems with them overheating, but that has been addressed and supposedly fixed. I live in the deep south and have NEVER had mine overheat

03's had some drive shaft problems, but that too was fixed.

That's the only "bad" things I can think of.

Good things? Fast, super smooth ride, can go anywhere, pull anything, and look good doing it! I didn't think I'ld like an auto/belt drive tranny, but I have to admit, I love it! (except when it sucks water, thus, a snorkel is needed)

I m in the same position as you are.

1. Gas boiling causing vapor lock has been a problem. They think they have it fixed now but I m not convinced. It hasnt been hot yet, I guess time will tell.

2. Servos- (what puts it in 4 wheel drive) they have been having problems with that and its not fixed. I know a guy who had his 3 days and it went out. This was last week too.

3. Axles- they switched in 03 had problems and in 04 they went back to the 02 ones. I think this is fixed now.

Seems this is the one I want but worried about the problems. If I get one, extended warranty is being bought.

Do a search and you will see just about all of the problems that people have had repeatedly. They have had some problems, but a lot of them are from folks that just tear up their machines also. Plus, half the people that will give you a list of bad things about the 660 are also those that don't own one. Mine has been just about trouble free. Had it get hot and lose power one time ever. Never had any other problems that anyone else has experienced. Mine is a 2002 model bought on July 10th of 2001 right after they came out.

Quads will have a few minor problems but any of them are suceptable to tearing up depending on how they are treated. Honda's are supposed to be bulletproof, yet I have 2 friends that have had massive problems. One blew and engine in one year. Other had just about everything you can have (except engine) replaced over about a 2-3 year span.

If you just do a search for Grizzly 660, you will find all you need, because the same problems have been beaten around the forums forever. Anytime somebody starts comparing bikes, they get in a pissing contest and bring out any problem they have ever heard on whatever machine it is. Each quad has its own list of problems that everyone likes to bring up all the time. Grizz 660 is no different. And yes, the problems they mention have happenned, though probably not quite as frequent as some like to let on.

Good luck dude.

that says alot right there.... alot of people like to regurgitate(sp?) information they read on the internet and pass it on as fact. Not saying these problems haven't occured, God knows it has, but if you did research, you'll see it that more people have had problem free bikes then people with problematic bikes.

Like Mr Bassham, my 02 has been trouble free.

I dont own one, but my buddy does, and i think it has the best 4wd system out there. Whats not to like? You can have 2wd, 3wd or fully locked, anytime you want, 4wd. It probably has the best belt drive system , the belt is always tight on the pulleys, ready to spin without slippage.
