Wild ride today!
I went riding with the wife and kids today. I was riding my Raptor and my wife and two young kids were riding on our Kawa Mule. We were riding out behind my house at a 10 acre pond in which the water is way low. I ride there all the time, but my wife hasn't been there in a while. I was at one end of the pond bed doing some donuts and I looked to see were she was....and I saw her starting to drive around on the pond dam close to the water. I had driven through there plenty of times and she probably saw my tracks and thought that she could make it too. Getting across that pond dam is tricky on a quad, because it is steep and you have to lean way over to keep from flipping sideways. I knew the mule had no chance of making it, and would definitely flip over on its side. Well I took off as fast as I could to try to stop her. I was in third gear flying as fast as I could go. She got halfway across and was approaching a ditch where I knew that Mule had no chance of staying upright. I downshifted in second, had it powersliding around the dam going ***** to the walls and yelling trying to get her to stop. I was flying up behind her as her front tires went into the ditch and the mule pitched up onto two wheels (drivers side) about to go over. I kicked my leg over the Raptor and powered all the way up to them ditched the Raptor and grabbed the rollcage of the mule as it was going over. I was able to stop it from flipping and shoved it back over on all fours. Wife and kids were screaming and didn't know I was there at first. We all took a sigh, I couldn't let go of the mule or it would flip. I could hear my Raptor behind me............ I was afraid to look. It was still in gear and running when I jumped off of it as my front tires hit the water. I had no choice. The Raptor was still running and the back tires where churning at first, then the front end dropped down and the motor quit. The Raptor went about thirty feet out into the pond and the only thing I could see of it was the backs of the tires and the tailpipe and grab bar and the very back ends of my fenders. It was pointed straight down in the water and bobbing. At least my family was ok. They could of been hurt. I had to winch the Mule up the dam, and went swimming to get the Raptor. It was floating and I couldn't touch the bottom. By the way, it is hard to swim while pulling a 400 pound quad!
I told the wife later, that I am going to have to give her driving lessons, so maybe she won't do something so crazy again. She did say she was sorry, and thanked me for being there.
The Raptor had water everywhere, in the gas tank, crankcase, airbox, carbs,.....it will take me a while to dry it out.

Thats what I told my wife, it is a lot easier to fix a quad, than to fix a person. We were fortunate that I was able to get there in time. It could have gone bad so easily.....

my friend was on his trike and he passed our neighbour on a lil zuki 250, she was kinda stupid and drove a little to the left, over this bridge which is atleast 10 feet high!, my friend said she was on 3 wheels!! just barely hanging on the rocks
I have changed the oil 4 times and it is still coming out looking milky!!!!! This is getting old. ALso the motor cranks but runs like junk. It will not rev pass 1/4 throttle, then it just sputters and pops. I just filled the gas tank up with gas before it went swimming, so I figured not a whole lot of water could of got in there - I have drained the carb bowls three times. I am draining the rest of the fuel tank now hoping that will make it run right again.
Any suggestions would be great.
