yup in 2006 the emissions laws will be to strict for a 2 stroke to pass... jus means more technology and more big bore 4 strokes... trust me they wont be missed as much as you are expecting...

I think they will figure out a way to keep two strokes around like efi or other ways to clean them up.

I think if they were totally gone they would be really missed. at least by me.
4 strokes are awesome but you just can't top that 2-stroke snap and the sound, nothing sounds better then a 2-stroke revved out.

I think i could live without a 2 stroke quad. But a dirt bike on the other hand is a different story, ether you 2-stroke or you don't.

But I really don't think the 2's are going to die out.

There are no 4 strokes that can compete with a 2 stroke. I am not saying i can beat every 4 stroke but i dont see any stock frame 4 strokes running under 4s in 300 ft.

2 strokes are going no where. companies will still be able to make them, its just they wont really make 2 stroke 4wheelers anymore. do u see them not making chainsws anymore? no. and the 250r's and banshees and blasters will all be grandfathered in like everything else. dont u guys worry about the whole 2 stroke hype. its probly nothing to worry about

This makes me sad I have to agree with BlackRaptor, I love the sound of a 2 stroke, and the starting power is ungodly, even on my blaster. Of course, I have only rode a Blaster, and a CR125, and an old DT100. I could not imagine the power on a Banshee. I still wish Yamaha would put a nice 2 stroke sportbike, I would be the first in line. I think Honda had one, maybe still, the NSR50.
