Default Raptor Starter Clutch

Has anyone had problems with a weak starter clutch? I personally think this is a part that should last at least a few hundred hours. My first went out @ 60 hrs (I had the dealer replace @ $400) and now I just ordered parts for the second after just 2 years. I also replaced one on a friends Rappy about 3 months ago. My bike is very meticulously maintained and I'm not hard on the starter. The rap's battery is also on a battery tender just to make sure its up to par all the time. The first time it went out I contacted the Yammy rep because the Rap was just 8 days out of warranty. He pretty much told me to pound sand, even after I asked for just the extended warr in exchange for me paying for the repair. If anyone is thinking of buying a Yamaha DON'T their customer service stinks! Love riding the bike... Hate the company and the reliability

Its not hard. but you do have to have a puller (I used a steering wheel puller) to pull off the ignition magnito that the clutch is mounted to. The problem is that the clutch is expensive. Also when it goes out it drops alot of metal shavings into the motor. I bought a drain plug with a strong magnet in the end to grab some of it.
