Default Raptor too fast for its own good

Okay, so I bought a 2004 raptor a week ago and I love it, but the thing will not go slow. when ever im cruising say at round 5 mph the quad acts like its gonna stall , Ive even had it backfire on me twice. If I give it more gas and get the rpms up its fine. but just whenever I go slow it happens. Ive tried adjusting the idle but that doesnt help. I even took it back to the shop and have them look at it, but it was no help. Anyone know what this could be? could it be like bad gas or a fowled plug?

Try a 12 tooth front sprocket. I went through the same thing with my Raptor and it's alot nicer on super tight trails now. Still not as easy to ride as my wife's 400EX, but alot faster once the trail straightens out.

one of the results I found said that one side effect of a messed up float, is gas in the oil. My oil smells like gas. is this normal.

go with a 12/42 tooth combo and remember this is not a UTILITY quad . there is a little flat spot at idle = Above that it starts to run right . Regear for sure makes a huge difference if you want something to ride like a trials bike then go for the 12/46 combo but thats pretty low .
Also go to raptor tranny and look at the reverse bypass method he shows works great . Now my raptor huals backward

Turning out the pilot screws 1/4 turn a piece will probably take that away.

you might want to try a heavier flywheel, rocky mountain sells them...
