Default Raptor Blowing Carbs Off?

I've been looking for a used Raptor. I found a 2002 in pretty good shape for sale but was wondering if all of the problems were corrected by that model. I read in one of the mags that by 2002, the tranny problems were corrected but I haven't found much info on the problem with the carbs blowing off. Was this corrected in the 2002's? If you did have the problem, how did you repair it? Was there a permanent fix? Any other problems I should know about or things I should look for? Thanks in advance.

It's my understanding that improperly adjusted intake valves are the primary cause of the carb boot problem.

I think the boots are different on the 02s but I'm not sure. The UPP boots will cure it for sure.

As soon as I saw this, I was thinking that anyone with the carb's blowing off, should pick up a set of UPP intake boots.
