banshee coolheads which dome
#11
Peewee,
If all that you want to do is take advantage of the additional cooling I would stay with the 22cc domes. That is close to stock and you are certain to have no problems. If your shop insists that 19cc domes are the way to go, ask them if they will cover the repair costs if you blow a hole through your piston because you followed their advice. If they will do that in writing go with the 19cc domes. That is what I run and believe me the additional compression really makes my Banshee come alive. By the way, I do run 100% race gas. My cylinder PSI here in Phoenix is in the 150s and at Glamis where I do most of my riding it will be in the 180 range. Definately need the race fuel there. I also have a Super Cooler radiator. You might want to consider that approach if you just want additional cooling. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

guys i would feel pretty dumb going back in and telling them to order me different domes. these guys made it so clear that the 19cc will be fine. these heads are almost identical to the pro design coolheads and use the same domes, the maker of these heads is in kalisple and he also called me personaly at work and said the 19cc heads is what he sells and runs on his wifes banshee. told him the compression and he said that it would be fine. i want to trust them but you guys have been there done that so i dont know.

Peewee,
Again, My friend is running the 19 cc domes WITH NO PROBLEM! He has at least 50 hours on the machine since the re-ring (notice I did not say rebuild, just re-ring and hone) He runs 91 octane gas and his machine screams. I am going to the 19 cc domes next year when I purchase a cool head.
RoostKing...
PS. We run at 6500+ feet in altitude.
