LMAO, used to make sense until that comment....

What exactly are you guys arguing in here? That you get just as much power with the lid on and stock jetting/exhaust as you would if you rejet, change the filter and exhaust?

I can speak from experience, that changing filter, exhaust, jets, and removing the lid makes a huge performance difference. Combined with my gearing setup, the bike hauls now, compared to crawling in stock form. I ran a stock Raptor after these changes and blew him out of the water. So....

Ok Ive heard it from every ones view. Now lets keep it simple. An internal cumbostion engine can never have too much air. It can however have not enough fuel for the amount of air taken in. Now I have not yet taken the carbs apart yet to see exacty what i am dealing with, but the only way i can see the carbs needing or responding to some kind of air box presure is if they have some type of diaphram in them to control the fuel metering circuits. Then I would agree that this was the case. I will however have this figured out with in the next couple of days. I will post the results. If some one has any more info please reply to this. I'm new to this board and i posted this question. I like hearing others thoughts and ideas so keep them coming. Oh one more thing. If any one reads the artical in dirts wheels about the 4 quad shoot out they say to remove the lid all together and rejet. My lid on my o4 raptor does not hold the iar filter in place. They must have redesigned it.

i agree w/ figleone on this one. an internal combustion engine cant have too much air. has anyone ever heard of super/turbo charger? that is probably one of the best things to put on an engine to get the most power. so adding more air to the engine will give you more power. but depending on the altitude at which you live, you will probably have to rejet it to keep the air/fuel ratio the same.

love it. i haven't had experience w/ any other pipes, but that one really gave it a punch...and it's LOUD! i love the way it sounds. i'm going to take the lid off and get it jetted, it's running a little rich now, and very lean w/ the off. i figure it'll really run w/ the lid off and rejetted.
