Help! Buying banshee!
#1
I am looking into buying a used banshee. Around a 2000. This would be the first 2-stroke I have owned. So How can I tell if the engine is in good condition? I doun't know how a good 2-stroke is supposed to run. What other things should I look out for when buying a 2000? thanks

if there are any rattles, see what it is. My kicker is loose where it swings out, and it makes a rattling sound. Its no big deal. If it does make any noises, see if you can get it for cheaper than what he wants, unless he allready dropped the price to compensate. If i were you, I would get a LSR or laeger 250r spec frame, and go from there.

it should be decently hard to kick start it to make sure it has good compression left.

Lapeerbanshee, your right it does work and I did it in the middle of a trail after a suspected meltdown just to confirm my suspecion, but I used my hand to push on the kicker instead of using my leg to get a better feel.

if you want to fix your kick starter from rattling just move it clockwise on the splines, then i will be pushed up against side case and it wont rattle, but you can still kick it, my detent ball fell out too, theres no way to get it back in.
