Alright guys, I was just talking with a guy at work about what ATVs have great low power and I mention my Big Bear with its stump-pulling first gear. He stated that nothing has more power the the Grizz. I personally love both machines and it is really tough to compare the big boys with the smaller boys but we started talking about can the Big Bear possibly have more low end power then the Grizz? Tell me what you think guys. We're talking about if you had to pull a stump out of the ground which machine would be the best choice.

I bet if ya hooked em up the grizz would not be able to drag the bear around much. It would probably be close.

Think of it like this. Even though the Grizz has waay more horsepower, you are still limited by traction. Now the grizz has a locking front differential. That is where the advantage would come in. They are pretty close in weight. Pretty interesting question.

Only one way to find out respectfully. Hook the grizz to a Stump and hook the bear to another stump of close to equal size. For fairness dont put the grizz in diff lock. Also is it a 660 or the older 600?

I guess we really didn't get into displacement. I guess we will go with the 660 Grizz. Think as if both were 03 or 04.

With your tires for example you could pull the grizz around I would say, just because both the big bear and the grizz have lots of power to tow so it comes down to the traction. The only thing the grizz has on the big bear is the auto and if the grizz has better tires than stock he could get spinning more than a big bear could.

Hey guys
I'm new to the forum, was reading some of the threads and saw this one. Had to reply, I have a 03 kodiak and have a buddy with an 03 big bear both are 400 of course and we had a push contest. I pushed him all over more than once. Never challenged a Grizz.

i have both quads and even though it feels like the big bear has more but the grizz has more horses it weighs more and has diff lock//i havent tried but the grizz would probably win because of these factors but i do give credit to yamahas low first gear

Hooked a griz up to a ford ranger, with the driver 2 people on front ant 10, 100 lb. trqactor plates. Needless to say but the grizz won.
