Default Blaster Pulls the Big Hill

Just spent 3 days at St. Anthony dunes, with perfect weather and sand as smooth as a high school cheerleader's bottom. First trip to the dunes this year, and my son Tyler on his Blaster with some new mods pulled Choke Cherry hill every time he tried it. Went all the way up Devil's Dune too. Needless to say he was pumped. The Blaster has nothing real special for mods, and Ty is just over 80 pounds so weight was to his favor.

1998 Blaster
FMF pipe
Aftermarket cheap reeds
Wiseco piston stock bore
Ported & head mod by Eric Gorr (pump gas midrange porting)
Unifilter w/ holes in airlid
Front sprocket up 1 tooth
Sand shark paddles

I might get all excited and keep tricking this thing up, it really is working. You know you're getting old when it's almost as fun to watch the boys rip it up, and just turn the wrenches and drink the beer.

I saw a Blaster make it up the big coal hill at Tower City in PA. I've seen bigger bikes roll all the way back down. A lot of it depends on the rider. Props to your kid!

You wont imagine how much faster he would get up there with some good set of paddles

I thought the Sand Sharks were pretty good tires. Oh, you should have seen him go up that hill on my ported 87 Quadracer, he went all the way up in 4th gear, really flyin'. 80 pound test pilot, makes your bike look good. Maybe I'll hire him out.

Shady, I can't tell you how cool that is. I don't know if Tyler remembers me from that ride in St.A's (Its easier for me to remember a little dude ripping on a Blaster/Raptor than him to remember some goof on a 400ex), but tell him I am way jealous of him and he is a great rider! I am glad it worked out for you (weather). I can't wait for the chace to ride till we puke! Maybe July 4th ish at St. A's! Its funny , I only want kids (right now, this will change, I promise Baby!) is to build them bad *** quads, wrench on them, and enjoy watching it!

RIGHT ON MAN !!!!!!

I went to saint anthony's last year with my blaster when I had the original engine in it. here's the mods I had.

pro cuircut pipe
k&N clamp on.
rejeted
port and polish
head shaved .80
v-force reeds
reed spacers
110 octain racing fuel
skat track II paddles
+4 swing arm
twist throttle
cut fenders
painted frame red

I think thats it.

I made it up every hill including choke cherry and thunder mountain.

I wieghed 110lbs and I was 13 years old at the time.

cant wait till next time to see what the 360 is going to do.
