has anyone with a yfz been beaten by a predator yet? im not trying to bash im just trying to decide on which bike to get i like the pred and its price but im not sure if its fast enough and im looking for something that i can make extremely fast.

 

owning both... you wont get a pred as fast as a yfz with eqaul mods... but i dont care what these guys say... the yfz doesnt beat it by 10-20 lenghts like they all like to claim.

 

Well ive seen this race over and over and the yfz always took the holeshot by about 1-3 lenghts but on the top end, the pred would slowly walk away... Thats both bone stock.

 

that seems about like what i've seen.

 

How bout we put the money we saved from buying a Pred and put it into mods. Then see who's ahead

Yep, sorry buddy. I have yet to see a predator take a win against a 450.

 

I raced 3 different YFZs this past weekend. About 60 yards.

1st one had pipe and clamp on filter, beat me by 4 quad lengths.
2nd one was stock, tied.
3rd one had a slip on, beat me by 1 quad length, but I was gaining on him strong in 3rd.

They are nice machines. But i expected them to be faster. However, sometimes its more rider then bike.

Keep in mind I only went down one tooth in the front and have a slipon.

If I could get traction in first or second, I imagine the races would have been closer.

 

I have raced a lot of yfz's in differant parts of the country in the sand and in the dirt.I have never been beat by a yfz450 on my predator. My son also has a predator and has had the same results.A lot of the yfz450' have been modified a few even were big bored. My predator is modified,but my sons only has a slip on pipe,stk. carb that I modified and I ported his head.Not much cost involved just a little work.We race in the dunes and at organized races both. At little Sahara,Ok. last labor day a bunch of us with predators went there. There was a predator in just about any state of tune and many differant riding abilities.We found a stock yfz450 and matched him up against a stk. pred. They raced three times, the predator won all three times. I am sure there are some good running yfz's out there,but so far I hav'nt been beat by one on my predator,But I am still looking.The organized drag races are about to start up we will see if the yfz owners have found some new ways to make them go faster than last year. I know my predator is getting faster.Not trying to make any yfz owners mad,as it is a nice machine,I am only stating facts that I can back up.
