18's LMFAO, a Little Chevy Cavalier 4 cylinder will do it faster then that, LOL. A YFZ450 was doing a quater in 14.6 at 72 MPH and I know that my Raptor or Banshee would beat that in a 1/4.

I agree that he is WAY off....but a zo6 has 405hp.....and I believe z28s had 350......

I have driven both more than once.....and the zo6 is quite a bit stronger.....

A damn stock raptor or shee would be lucky to run 18's, they are going to be toped out by the 1/8 mile...and what the hell does it matter anyway??
hahahahahhahaahahahahaha

I know where these comments are comming from I have raced in Hole shot races across the northwest 100' asphalt when we would be setting up the guys with the pro cars would be walking around snickering at lawnmowers afterward they would be shaking there heads as we walked away with the wins .
I'm talking 9 and 10 sec cars . . They would kill us in 1/4 but not in an 1/8 but until you would show them they would not believe !
They would have bet there mother that we would even be close to there times . It's gotta hurt to have 80 or 90K in a car and get smoked by a guy with a 3k lawnmower HEHEHEheheheheheeh

I have listed my mods on the raptor and I raced my friends Z28, with a 6 speed transmission and intake and on 1/8th of a mile you will beat the hell out out of the Z. On longer distance though, the z will come up strong.

My old 94 formula firebird (LT1) ran 13.8's at 100 +. I ran over 80 in the 1/8 mile. My car was an automatic and had 2.73 gears (the highest available). The LS1's were stronger than the LT'1s. And a 97 and up vette comes with an LS1 with a bit more power. Now the Z06 vette has alot more power. I have seen almost stock LS1's run high 12's at around 110 mph in the quarter. There is no way a stock or slightly modded banshee would beat a LS1 in the quarter. It might take it in the 1/8 but the camaro/firebird would be gaining hard by the end of the 1/8. Auto or manual does not make much difference.

The proof is in the timeslips. Take your bansee to the strip. If you can run about 8.5 seconds in the 1/8 you will be close.(in the 1/8 not the 1/4) Anything less is not much of a race.

madwolverine: the vette having much more power than the camaro is just a myth.

Chevy said they had far different HP numbers for obvious marketing reasons...on a dyno, they'll pull very close to the same, if not exactly the same numbers.

the corvette is faster only because f-bodies (camaros, firebirds) are very porky

Hampster:

The weight of the F-bodies is very close to the vette, my car was around 3300lbs with a cast block. The ls-1 has an aluminum block. I think the weights are within 200lbs. Anyway you can add about .1 second in the quarter for every 100lbs.

The Z06 does have a alot more hp than a ls-1. (LS6=405hp LS1 305hp to 350hp) The LS-1 vettes are pretty close to the LS-1 F-bodies. GM High tech performance magazine tested a Z28 6 speed. They ran a 12.9 at 109mph with just the air filter removed. This is the fastest stock time I've ever heard on a ls1 f body. Most 97 and up ls1 vettes will do about the same. A z06 is good for mid to low 12's out of the box. Even faster than the old ZR1.
