Default jetting

I have a stock grizzly and just bought a jet kit (dyno) and was wanting some advice on the jetting. I my put a filter kit on if needed.

If you have a stock Griz, why are you jetting it? are you changing Elevation? You should only Re-jet if you are putting on performace enhancements that will make you get more air, re-jetting will help you mix more fuel w/ the more air.

I was told by a local small engine place here in town that they had got very good results for jetting the grizzly. He said the throttle response was a little better and the 0 to 40 time improved as well.

take your spark plug out and, check the color of the white ring in near the tip of plug. If it is white or gray your lean and, need to jet up. If it is black and, sooty your rich and, could go a little leaner with the jetting. If it is the color of the brown paper bag your perfect. This only works if you have some ride time on the machine though. It will not get a color till you have a few hours on it.

I can't see a reason to rejet unless you've altered the air intake or exhaust on a bike. If you give it more air it will need more gas to mix in or, else it would be lean. Same goes for a free flowing exhaust = if you can get air and, spent gas out quicker it means it will take in new air in more quickly so you need to upsize your jetting to get more gas in quicker, compensating for more air flow.
