Default warrior vs. 300ex

Yeah yeah yeah, the warrior is faster, yes that is true, but just because the warrior is faster doesn't make the 300ex slow, it isn't that much slower than the warrior. For racing I'd go with the 300ex, it's lighter and has much better handling, for trail riding, I'd still have to say the 300ex for the trail. I value handling and acceleration more than top speed.

I completely agree, i only get on top end when im at a specific persons house cause he has all the straightaways. I will always value handling over speed, thats why im sellin the banshee.

2phast4u,

I can tell you from experience.

I raced 2 300ex's. One was a 2001 model with a Alba Racing pipe and a K&N Filter. Mine was completely stock with still the stock the filter....no mods. I put about 4 solid four wheeler lenghs in it. It really wasnt a problem. Out run it with ease really. I even tried him on the Nitrous, and lol....Well lets just say i out-run him! But Honda makes a killer atv no doubt. But so does Yamaha. Warrior's have been around forever. Dont think you will be dissapointed with either one. But Warriors are faster than a 300ex. Hands down. More bottum end and top end.

Hey, once you put some .190 rims on the warrior the handling will be just as good as a 300EX, and it will take a hell of a lot longer to reach 3 mph less than the warrior with well over 50cc's less and less gears to play with. The Warrior also has a front weight bias and a short turning radius, so those tight turns can actually be matched to a 300EX, just depends on what you do to it. My friend rode a 300EX and it took about half the day to reach top speed, doesn't sound like too great of acceleration to me! (this is assuming the rider is over 120LBS though) All of that handling won't matter if you can't accelerate after those tight turns in the woods, and I guarantee a Warrior can spank a 300EX in the woods. I'm not biased towards either, one of my best friends rides a 400EX with me. I appreciate Honda just as much, but the Warrior takes this one.

The 300EX is actually $500 more than the Warrior in these parts

Come on now guys, you know the answer to this one!!! The 300 EX has great handling and all, but the Warrior would rip it a new a$$hole!!! The 300EX isn't even a 300, it's actually well over 10cc's less than that, maybe more, I forget. If you plan to drive like Ms. Daisy go ahead and get the 300. I personally prefer 'Stay Tuned's' version of 'Driving Over Ms. Daisy' with the Warrior, lol.
Its funny that the 300ex doesnt have as many cc's as you say, but it is only like what? 3 mph slower? wow, im going to go sell my 300ex just so i can go a lousy 3 mph faster. Warrior owners will say go with a warrior, 300ex owners will go with a 300ex, what do you expect.
I thought the 300EX topped at 55?? Anyway .. it's the same comment ppl make when comparing the 400EX which is only 2 - 3mph faster than the Warrior. As for Warrior owners recommending Warriors and 300EX owners recommending 300EX's .. that's a no-brainer, unless the owner of a particular machine has had a heap o' trouble. For myself, I'd say it depends on what you want to do. If you like wheelies and jumps and tight trails, then the 300EX is a better choice. If you like hill climbs and heap's of low end torque (for a 350 that is ..) then get the Warrior. I don't honestly think either has a better reliability rating than the other .. they're both bullet proof machines. Another plus on the Warrior (IMO) is it's destinctive styling, but that's all about personal pref ..

Regardless .. enjoy whatever you got and be safe!

55? not from what ive seen and heard, when broken in right, they will run 57/58, and i will clock mine one day with a truck to make sure it is accurate. There must have been something wrong with that 300ex if it took him all day to get to top speed, mine can do it in about 10 seconds, if that. Can you tell me how .190 rims will give you better handling? plus a 300ex CAN turn sharp and accelerate real quick out of turns, if you dont believe me come down to gilmer and ill show you what a 300ex can do

The .190 rims (itp or douglas, I have both for sand tires and the razors) will increase the width of the warrior by over 2" on each side (about 4" overall for 20x11x9's), which allows you to go much faster around the turns. and makes you a hell of a lot more stable than stock. 20" tires are one of the best simple bolt on improvements you can make to a Warrior, and the razors barely even made any change in ground clearance, only about 1/2". Other tires that aren't quite as wide may not have this effect though. It almost felt like I added a wider axle and a-arms with these tires. They don't change your suspension travel however, but new suspension is almost next on my list anyway. Can't wait to get rid of those stock pogo sticks!!!
