What a bunch of BS.
Hello
I saw your advert placement and am interested in your 1999 Yamaha Banshee for the sum $3650 i want you to let me know the condition of the 1999 Yamaha Banshee so that i can ask my business associate to payment on my behalf and the method of payment is through a certified cashier check and it will be in the sum of $8500 and all you have to do upon receiving the check is that you will deduct the cost of the 1999 Yamaha Banshee and you will send the remaining balance to the shipping company that will come to your location for the pick up of the 1999 Yamaha Banshee so if you accept this method of payment i want you to forward me your contact info such as your full name, contact address, zip code including your phone # so that i can ask my associate to send you the check for the payment immediately .
Hope to read from you soon.....

what the? I suppose you are selling a 1999 banshee and some joker sent you that message? He wants your full name, address, zip code and phone number? Sound like this person wants to know where you live to STEAL your quad!

I went through this with ebay several times, I would place a bid on a quad and the next thing I would know there would be a message from someone trying to sell the same quad at a substantial savings, just wire the money first, total BS, I would report this to ebay however I couldnt find a contact number or email address, this also happened when I tried purchasing other big ticket items like pinball machines or vintage cars, someone is hijacking their setup and I hope no one buys into it, also if you receive an email about overseas purchase of new quads its also a scam, dont go for it.

I got the same scam with a Chevelle that I was selling. I recieved the check last week and went right to the bank to have it verified. It was a false account at a real bank. I then called the FBI who told me to call Secret Service, who told me to rip up the check there is nothing they can do about it.
How the scam work: They send you a check for the item, plus shipping. You are to send a check to there shipping associate who then takes your check and cashes it hopefully before you notice that his check doesn't clear. I guess it is a big think in Nigeria
