Man I have a 1990 with the following mods below, So I was just sitting around and started
wondering how it would sound with out the baffle so I took the hole silencer off and left the header
sticking out right in front of my leg and that thing is crazy loud. Louder than my drag car and you
can really hear that thing thump


Anyone ever did this???

 

I hear it is real bad for your power valves they will start to leak after a while
but up until that point it should sound loud if thats what you want

 

What are power valves?

i'm sorry exaust valves ,, but it is still harmful .
on a TWO STROKE the power valve or valves will
lose the seal and start to leak my friends yz did that

 

a mech at the yam shop told me it causes to lean of a mixture once it exits the head
and thus will burn your exaust valve

 

If it messes something up then that will be an excuse to rebuild the engine and make it a stroker.HEHE
I have a policeman next door to me and he said that I need to put the silencer back on and I told him
thats why I moved out in the country so people would quit aggravating me about my loud toys. He didnt
say another word he just got mad

Man When I go ride in my parade when Christmas comes around I am go to just run it straight through
the header. Ill have the loudest in there.

 

well the manufacturer has a good reson to have a muff on there
where can we ride if we have a bad rep because we are to loud
and irritate people
