Good choice, first atv huh? Better get your self a GOOD crash helmet and make sure your medical insurance is up to date!
That's what I was thinking....I know your excited...but I really do think the banshee is too much bike for a first time rider...good luck.

Excellent that care of it and it will last you a long time, you will never get bored with it with all the hoop up out there for it, from pipes to billet and chrome parts you will be very pleased with all that is available for it, not to mention it rips

My Banshee is a blast - very dependable.....fortunately i have my own personal tech who taught me how to take care of it!!! I would suggest no engine mods for a while......the stock engine on the Shee is more than enough power, and if you don't mess with it, it will last you long time!! All I did to mine was Toomey's, filter/jet kit, and bars!!! It's a wonderful, dependable, scary/thrilling ride every time I get on it!!

Good luck - have fun!! Make sure you always pre-mix your gas!!!

before you start worrying about modifications you need to get good at riding it first. Chances are it's gonna get banged up. If you don't watch out a shee will bite you right in the *** its a mean quad. Don't mean this wrong but it's alot of quad for a first timer. So you need to be careful that powerband is awesome. lol i wish i could be there and see your first ride. ENJOY bro.
