The reason i said it would do 75 is cause the YAMAHA Reps said the top speed was 75mph. Please get the ATV sport magazine and you will know what im talking about. How could it do 80 if them two chinese men and that one American man from Yamaha said that, I mean come on they are the ones who designed it. Don't you think they would be the right ones. Did you even read that in that magazine yet. They were also talking about the DS 650 having better bottom end than it. They said every one thought it didn't fill as fast as the DS650 did starting off. They also mentioned that the DS650 didn't have that good of bottom end or what ever. You will have to read it first. I really wanted one until i read that. THey sounded like it really wasn't that awesome to me, but i don't know. Well pick you up a copy of that magazine. Later dudes,Kenny

If thats the case, which I doubt it is, Id say they are being conservative. How would you like to be Yamaha and have Honda do to you what you just did to Bombardier. They are keeping the engine rating and such quiet. It will do them no good to release a new Quad only to have every other company trying to meet and beat their Hp and speed already. That could just mean a Honda 665 R or 670 R with only 1 or 2 hp difference and a 1 or 2Mph difference. Not Good. There is the possibilty that The Gov may be limiting the speed, given it is a nice sounding number like 75. Just like they want new seadoos and jetskis to go 65. Just Buying a 99 model seadoo and you can go faster. 2000's are speed limited. Since the Gov has to evaluate for safety approval before release they may have slapped these with limiting the speed already also.

I am a Honda guy, but this thing looks TEMPTING! The only place I think that Yamaha could have improved it, would to have added 6th gear. I know that I wish my 400EX had a 6th gear.

If my bike had reverse, I'd keep it, but now that Yamaha has this Monster, and it's trailfriendly, I'm about to become a sell out........

No anyone who wants a nice 400EX ....???

Hey Bro. They NEVER said that the Banshee was faster!! What they said was that they did not have the room to open the BIG BOY up. Lets all try not to down play the bike before it hits the showroom floors. We will soon see what the bike will to up against the competitors!!!

 

Well a few years back there was a special chat thing with a rep from Yamaha and he specifically said the banshee would do about 65 mph. Just goes to show, that just cuz they say it'll do 75 doesn't mean it won't do 80.
