I've gotta tell ya, I haven't ridden the new 450R but I haven't heard too many good things. What were they thinking making the swingarm 1 inch shorter than '88-'89 250R! I've heard the 450 will wheelie so easy it is just not competetive with the YFZ. I have no intention of selling my 250R but if I had to buy a new quad I don't think it would be the 450R. I've ridden a YFZ and it felt awfully similar to my 250R. Honda's going to be in even more troulble next year because the CC deplacement maximum for pro racing has been raised from 440 to 450. The Honda is already a 450 but the YFZ is only a 440. You better bet Yamaha is going to bump it up to an equal 450 for the 2005 model year. I'm a die-hard Honda fan but from what I have heard Honda is a little off with the 450R.

Anyone that knows their stuff would know that the 88'-89's swingarm was about an inch too long. That is why they are making it an inch shorter. It had a slightly bad rep for spinning out with the stock length. It's still a matter of personal preference though. Besides, the 450r is still .2 inches longer than the yzf. It might be smart to take a little incentive to search this stuff out on your own.

The frame geometry is so much different from the 250R, that comparing swing arm sizes is apples to oranges. Besides this kid has never ride a 450r, you really think he has put a tape on the swing arm, or the swing arm on the 250R?
I like all you guys thinking the Yamaha is the cats meow, it is, don't get me wrong. But I like to be different, and if you have a YFZ, your one of the masses.
I like having a sleeper.....Besides, for me and what I do, the 450R is alot better. READ THAT AGAIN BEFORE FLAMING, FOR ME, THE 450R IS ALOT BETTER.
