Yamaha owners talk about racing because people buy yamahas to race. They have the best lineup of sport quads in the business. What other company has contending atvs with such variety? from 350 to 660cc and a few 2 strokes thrown in for good measure.

I was a honda man all my life. But when I wanted to race back in 01, honda couldnt compete. And since the ds was too big for my liking, I got a Raptor. Now I'm on my second one and after I'm through with this I will probably want another one. Yamaha has the top race atv right now with the yfz. As long as they dont get blindsided by zuki, dinli, or by a miracle of God, bomb; then yamaha will be tops for years to come. Its just a matter of the best lineup. When you have the machines, the racers will come.

What the hell kind of racing do you do where you consider the YFZ race ready from the showroom??? The only quad that's been race ready from the showroom floor was the Cannondale Blaze and the Cannondale Moto!

 

I think what he meant was that a typical consumer can go purchase a yfz from a dealer, throw on the required safety equipment, and compete. The quad is fast enough and handles well enough that you dont have to sink big bucks into it to be a contender.

 

cuz alota ppl like going quick... i think going faster is funner then being able to pull more weight.

i just like quite people. I built my quad so people would be quite, especially all these punk kids who think their cr125 is faster, or their lt250r, or some other non-competitor. I think the only other thing that would be able to come even close would be a trx250r with a cr500 motor.
