Musclford--
I didn't think that anyone else was following this thread, sorry...The suggestion for setting the float hight is something I've used on snowmobiles for a long time -- sometimes it's a pain to remove the carbs on sleds just to check the level!!!I opened up just the lift hole in the slide but you should make sure the vacuum pulse hole in the plastic top is open also --I used the same drill to clean out this passage. When I had my fuel screw out to 2.5 to 3, my quad ran better cold but after 20 min or so it started hesitating off idle sometimes!! I did a lot of testing and 147.5 main, needle clip in the middle, fuel screw at 2.0, runs the best on my bike--- not cold!!
It is still very cold blooded but runs great after a min warming up..Plugs in a 4 stroke are not as easy to use for checking jetting as 2 strokes. It takes a long time to build up enough material on the plug to make an evaluation!!! Try the settings I listed, warm it up good, run it down a 1/2 mile straight away if it doesn't miss --run it. I've got the dyno-jet kit, a pipe and the 144 didn't run that bad but the 147.5 seems perfect. The settings fron Dyno-jet seem rich for after the bike gets warmed up (in the summer). The needle regulates the fuel flow at middle throtle positions(1/4-3/4). Did you notice the needle that came with the kit was longer than stock??--also shapped different?? This reprogramed the flow in midrange. If your float level is to low all jetting will need to be set richer to compinsate for the longer and taller distance the fuel has to flow up the jets!!!!!!!
Let me know how you do!!!

got the 147.5 jet set it up as you said the needle jet on #3 and air screw 2 out. I took it out for a ride and runs perfect thanks for the advice just put 25-8-12 blackwaters on the front, used to have 25-10-12 all the way around hit a rut with those big tires it tries to break your wrist. checked top speed with radar approx. 61 mph how fast does your go and what size tires do you run? I went camping this week with my kids and wife so I havent been able to post lately sorry.

Banshee09,
I haven't had a chance to put a radar gun to my quad but had it clocked by a motorcycle and he said that when he had 60 I was walking away from him, 61-62 maybe. It gets there pretty darn quick though-lifts the tires off the ground going into 2nd. The tires I have on are the same size as yours, Maxxis, oem for 2000 Big Bear. I just got done mowing the lawn with the Wolv and a set of gang mowers---actually could call the yard a rice patty!!!If this weather pattern keeps up we will have a winter like 1977--piles and piles of snow---oh yea!!!!
