sometimes when i rede my blaster i 4get to pull the clutch when shifting (coming from a semi auto tranny) is this bad?

 

Yes ! Its not good

 

its not horrible like do it 5 times and you blow up the earth if you do it occasionly at the rate of 5 times a ride the pythagorean theory states it will be mathamaticaly inaccurate to multiply length times the variable of speed

so its not gonna break soon if its an occasional oops but if its every shift it wont last long and if you shift at the correct rpms without the clutch its not bad

well some racers who are sponsored and get there clutches for free wont use it but i dunno, to play safe i would use the clutch. from what i have heard it might be alright to do it on an upshift, but on a downshift u def. need the clutch

 

I do it every ride upshifting at the right rpms... And oh yeah, got an '01 tranny, been doing it forever, since I bought the quad, no spare parts yet like everyone said should happen... If you know when and how to do it, and you can't even tell the difference, then your doing it right! With the right RPM's there is no stress on the tranny, so you don't really need the clutch... Most racers just use the clutch to slip it, like it's made to do in a oil bath.... In no way it hurts the clutch, cause the clutch is being bypassed, it hurts the tranny more than anything, the clutch is supposed to be the "shock" absorber for the tranny.... Ask yourself this, yes your quad ain't no semi, but they've been doing it for decades and still do it, it ain't just bad to do it to one tranny, but not the next.. They aren't all designed the same, but with accuracy it shouldn't place anymore load on the tranny than with the clutch, if you feel no strain against the shifter and it just pops in, it's fine, but don't force it in if you miss a gear!
