Default Rejetting Raptor, need pointed in the right direction.

okay so I removed my baffle, my air restricter, and added a new air filter, and now whenever I get on the throttle then let off, it boggs down and has backfired once or twice, so I figure I need to rejet. Ive been doing all the maintenance on my Raptor myself and I want to do this too, but Im unable to find any information on how to rejet a raptor, and how to figure out which jets I need. Is there a good site out there that will walk me through this.

p.s. altitude here is 600

it's all triall and error, but try going up one jet size on each carb, or play with your air fuel screw

okay, but what about a tutorial on how to do it, and an explanation on what each change is doing to the motor

like said above pretty much trial and error turn off gas take out air box for easier accesability unbolt from engine and airbox and take off bottom part of carb can't miss the jet. Once you've done as many as i've had(i lost count) it gets pretty easy.

I would get a service manuel they are good for people that do there own work. You can get them at yamaha.com . http://www.off-road.com/atv/projects...ce/intake.html. This is a site where they did a intake mod not what you have done ,but will give you a step by step on messing with the jets and carburetor. Hope it helps it did for me.

STOP! Look, go get a gyt-r jet kit,(best for raptor anyway), and on the package it says what jets to use for what mod youve done. i.e.- 160/165- no air box lid. 155/160-lid on, but k&n. and so on and so on. these are just examples! do it right the first time because jetting a raptor is a pain. after jetting with the recomended jets per mod, all you have to adjust is the fuel screw. good luck man.

GYT-R jet kit......who has the best prices? Do you buy the jets separately for this kit or is it complete?

and also, you shouldnt be bogging down, possibly backfire, if you removed all air restrictions, youd be running leaner so youd need more fuel( hence you needing to jet it),but more air should not cause you to bogg down. you might want to look further into that. do you have any exhaust mods? all that air your sucking in needs to go somwhere. i think that would help your problem too.
